My Grandpop (who passed away recently) was a big Louis L'Amour fan. He collected these books with his best friend growing up and between the two of them they amassed quite the collection! He would always recommend that my brother and I read them as we were growing up. Lo and behold, one of my best friends as an adult is also a Louis L'Amour fan. Despite all of my grandfather's efforts, I failed to read L'Amour until my best friend "foisted" him upon me. As it turns out, I like reading a good western every now and again!
Around the time my grandfather passed away I sat down and painted Mr. L'Amour. For the fun memories he gave to my grandfather during his own children and for the fun he provides to readers still, I tip my hat (or my paintbrush) in his direction.
This mug features my original watercolor illustration of Louis L'Amour on the front. The back features my best friends five favorite L'Amour titles alongside the following quote:
"The trail is the thing, not the end of the trail.
Travel too fast, and you miss all you are traveling for."
The mug is dishwasher and microwave safe, and is great for hot or cold liquids. It's colored brown on the handle and interior, and holds approximately 11 oz of liquid.
